This week, the trucking industry’s premier conference is happening virtually.

The many devoted trucking stakeholders, who normally would have flocked to the American Trucking Associations’ annual conference and jamboree, are asked to turn their attention online.

The 2020 edition of ATA’s Management Conference & Exhibition, a top-tier networking event for an industry deemed essential by most officials, runs through Oct. 28. The event originally was scheduled to take place in Denver.

ATA is among many groups showcasing their actionable insight online, a rarity in the pre-pandemic era. Online meetings and conferences became the new normal due to the pandemic.

Most business observers have endorsed the use of online means to engage in meetings and conferences during the public health crisis, as long as standards of quality are met. Online platforms are uniting individuals who are physically far apart in easy-to-use technology applications.

“We have put together a robust program to educate our members and celebrate the industry in ways that will be very familiar to attendees, even if the setting will not be,” said ATA President Chris Spear, who delivered his keynote state of the industry address Oct. 26.
