Oil prices slip as U.S. companies are returning workers and restarting operations at production facilities along the U.S. Gulf Coast after Hurricane Delta slammed the area.

November WTI (CL1:COM) recently -1.3% to $40.08/bbl, and December Brent (CO1:COM) -1.3% to $42.30/bbl, after front-month prices for both contracts gained more than 9% last week.

The U.S. Bureau of Safety and Environmental Enforcement says 91% of offshore crude oil production and 62% of natural gas output remained shut in the U.S. Gulf as of Sunday afternoon, after energy production from the area had been slashed by the most since 2005 during Hurricane Katrina.

Still shut are the Calcasieu Waterway in Calcasieu and Cameron Parishes in Louisiana and the state’s ports of Lake Charles and Cameron, while the Texas ports of Beaumont and Port Arthur, including the Sabine Pass, have been reopened with restrictions.

Total (NYSE:TOT) says it continued restarting its 225K bbl/day Port Arthur, Tex., refinery over the weekend after losing power on Friday.

Motiva Enterprises reportedly shut the 54K bbl/day coker on Friday after a cooling tower was damaged at its 607K bbl/day Port Arthur refinery, the largest in the U.S.

Valero Energy (NYSE:VLO) shut the 75K bbl/day CDU at its 335K bbl/day Port Arthur refinery after a cooling tower collapsed, Reuters reports.

Exxon Mobil’s (NYSE:XOM) 369K bbl/day Beaumont, Tex., refinery reportedly is operating normally.

Sasol (NYSE:SSL) says its Lake Charles Chemicals Project in Louisiana remains shut, although no apparent damage was sustained.

Colonial Pipeline, the largest oil products pipeline in the U.S., shut its main distillate fuel line after Delta disrupted electric power; it is owned by Shell Midstream partners (NYSE:SHLX) and others.
