Hong Kong business tycoon Jimmy Lai has been arrested and his newspaper offices were raided over allegations of collusion with foreign forces.

His case is the most high-profile arrest so far under the controversial national security law imposed by China in June.

Lai, 71, is an outspoken pro-democracy figure in Hong Kong who regularly criticizes China’s authoritarian rule.

In February, he was charged with illegal assembly and intimidation and was later granted police bail.
