Shout out to Tanica! Back in 2016, she shared with us how she lost 50 pounds. Now, she’s sharing with us how she’s maintained her success for more than three years with healthy eating habits and exercise.

How have you maintained your weight loss/continued to lose weight?
I have maintained a healthy weight by completely changing my diet. I practice intermittent fasting. Since I’m an early bird, I choose to start eating at 7 am, and I completely cut my food intake off at 4 pm daily. It was challenging at first because my body wasn’t used to it. It took about two weeks for the cravings to subside completely.
My diet includes fish and lots of green veggies. I use honey and fresh fruit in moderation to satisfy my sweet tooth. I also drink a lot of water and about 1 cup of black coffee per day.
For exercise, I mainly do 30 minutes of cardio about three days a week. It’s effective for me because it gets my heart pumping and keeps me energized.
Of the lessons you’ve learned on your journey, which one stands out the most at this point?
I have learned on this journey is that you have to figure out what works for you. Keep trying and never give up on yourself. Your persistence will pay off.
Would you like to offer any new or different advice to women who want to lose weight?
Getting your health in check will not be a breeze. Sometimes we have to purge all of the habits that we have learned and maintained for years. Once you find out what works for you as an individual, you will be unstoppable.
